The 2024 Weisser Burgunder R is from hard, red Permian stone. It is made from the oldest vines, around 50 years old, with naturally low yields, and fermented in new and second-use tonneaux without malolactic conversion. Smoky hazelnut defines the nose for now. The palate, however, reverts to precision and tautness, alongside a touch of petrichor savoriness, and has real drive and real suppleness. (Bone-dry)
