The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos des Fourches is a declassified cuvée from Maréchales that was last made in 2008. (Fourches was the name of the clos back in the 19th century and Mugnier decided to resurrect it.) It has a lively, quite vibrant nose with red cherries, redcurrant and light sea spray notes. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, very approachable as designed with a lilting finish of mulberry and sage. Fine.
