Tasting notes
Generous wood fights somewhat with the earthy and ripe yet nicely fresh aromas of black cherry, red currant and a whiff of the sauvage. There is again very good richness and verve to the medium-bodied flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the youthfully austere and sneaky long finale. This will need at least a few years of keeping in the hopes that better depth will progressively develop.

Aromas of cherries, dark berries, sweet spices, smoke and toasty new oak introduce the 2022 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Bousselots, a medium to full-bodied, lively, chalky wine built around powdery tannins that assert themselves on the youthfully grippy finish.
The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Bousselottes 1er Cru is also aged in 50% new oak, and again, that oak dominates the fruit profile at the moment. But there is a little more delineation than the Chambolle, a bit more tension. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins, quite a carapace of new oak, rendering the finish attractive but rather generic compared to its peers. It will improve with some bottle age. (NM)
