Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. Pale in color, the Morey Saint Denis Clos des Rosiers 2011 has a light, rather anemic bouquet that needs much more vigor, though it is not offensive or faulty. The palate is light and sweet on the entry, a little honeyed with what feels like a rather ersatz finish that speaks more of the New World than Burgundy.

Mid ruby. Rather luscious on the nose. Sweet and yes, I can see the rosy connection. A tad low in acidity but high in appeal. Very fruity, satisfying, neat finish. (JR)
