Tasting notes
Wild roses on the nose lead onto dark cherry fruit on the palate with a slight vegetal hint. There’s more weight in the mouth than the regular red Bourgogne from this estate, with nice layers of flavour and some complexity. Very light punch downs were used here, with a soft, gentle maceration. Paler in colour than the En Montre-Cul cuvée from this estate, partly down to the 40mm of rain that fell at the end of August, leading to thinner skins. From two parcels in Clos de Jeu, 40% whole bunch was used to boost the light tannins and enhance the aromas.

Bottled. Mid cherry red. Peppery and dark-fruited on the nose with the merest hint of smoky reduction that gives a more mineral effect. Juicy, rounded and straightforward. (JH)
