Score 97/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, May 2024
The 2019 Barolo Cannubi displays a more lush expression on the nose, with notes of framboise, fresh leather, licorice, and rosemary. Weightless on the palate, it reveals plush, supple tannins, a highly graceful feel, and a fresh floral finish. It’s the most approachable of the single cru wines in this vintage but is going to have an incredibly wide drinking window. Drink 2025-2050.

About the producer

Giacomo Borgogno & Figli
One of Piedmont’s oldest estates, Giacomo Borgogno & Figli, often known as just “Borgogno”, is archly traditional. Favouring long macerations and extended ageing in Slavonian cask, it is best known for its impressive Barolos, especially the prized late releases from its extensive library stock.
