Raised in French oak barrels, the 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino pours a ripe ruby color and takes on a little more oak with a note of vanilla. It offers a slightly more polished style, with broader shoulders, a ripe palate, and a medium to full-bodied frame. It’s ripe with fleshy tannins and has a good finish. Drink 2024-2034. 15,000 bottles produced. Fossacolle is located in Tavernelle, where they farm their small, six-hectare estate.

Dark ruby with orange tinges. A little earthy and not very expressive right now. Supple, polished, deep fruit that is already quite accessible, followed by firm tannins. Should be ready to enjoy from next year on. Solid. (WS)
