Medium red. Black cherry and a resiny nuance on the youthfully medicinal nose. The broadest and sweetest of these Bouchard Beaune bottlings, with dark fruit flavors given definition and lift by firm acidity. This has good volume and a chewy texture. Finishes with sweet tannins and very good length, with a piquant note of grapefruit.

Good deep ruby-red. Highly aromatic, liqueur-like aromas of blackberry, licorice, herbs, pepper and spicy oak. Then sweet, plump and aromatic in the mouth, with a velvety texture and strong spice character. Hints at a wide range of ripeness but this is also velvety and horizontal. Perhaps the broadest of these 2004s to this point. The tannins are fine.
Much the most generous and opulent of the Bouchard Père et Fils Beaunes. Still, quite rigorous in structure. Needs quite a bit of time. (JR)
