The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Corvées comes from vines planted between 1967 and 2017. It has a high-toned bouquet with black cherries and raspberry fruit, just a touch of black truffle coming through with time. The medium-bodied palate has a slightly tart entry and fine acidity. It’s a little compact towards the finish, where I am seeking more depth and substance – wood tannins are somewhat drying here. It's not bad, but it will be better in the future when they dial down the new oak percentage.
About the producer

Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, this domaine has a long history and impressive vineyards (with over five hectares of Grand Cru), but has long been considered an under-performer. Today, however, the Bouygues brothers (of Montrose and Clos Rougeard) have taken ownership and change is afoot.
