The 2025 Moulin du Cadet is 100% Merlot from three hectares on deep clay-limestone soils that have a northerly exposure between Larmande and Fonroque. It was picked at around 41 hl/ha between 15 and 19 September, and matured in 50% new oak. It has a lively and well-defined bouquet with vivacious blackberry and wild strawberry fruit, a touch of cassis emerging with time. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with velvety tannins, clean and fresh red fruit and a sorbet-fresh, slightly spicy finish. Very promising. Tasted twice with consistent notes.

Deep ruby-hued, the 2025 Château Moulin Du Cadet reveals mineral-laced red and black fruits, graphite, spicy wood, and crushed stone on the nose. Based on 100% Merlot from a mix of upper plateau and hillside terroirs, with very old vines, it will spend 16 months in 50% new French oak and 20% second-use barrels, with the balance in stainless steel tanks. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with a pure, focused mouthfeel, lots of structure, beautiful mid-palate depth, and a great finish. It checks in at 14% alcohol, and while it's tight and inward now, I suspect it will benefit from its élevage. This is an impressive, promising 2025.

A pretty wine with dark and crunchy salt and fruit notes. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and an energetic finish. Fine and linear. A lot of potential.

The 2025 Moulin du Cadet is beautiful, precise and elegant. Sweet perfumed overtones lift a core of Merlot fruit. The purity here is just striking. A reduction in new oak from 70% to 50% really allows the aromas and flavors to pop. Red/purplish fruit, blood orange and exotic spice caress the palate, lifted by bright, saline, limestone-infused notes. Terrific. Tasted two times.
