Tasting notes
Tart orchard fruits, ripe pear, sappy minerality, and minty nuances all emerge from the 2025 Château Les Charmes-Godard Blanc, a beautiful Francs based on 65% Sémillon, 20% Sauvignon Blanc, and the balance Sauvignon Gris, vinified and aged in 10-15% new barrels. It's medium-bodied on the palate, with bright acidity, impeccable balance, and a great finish. Just bottled a week before this tasting, it's already showing beautifully and will keep for up to 15 years in a cold cellar. Drink 2026-2041.

The 2025 Les Charmes Godard Blanc is rich, creamy and beautifully layered, all of which should make it an absolute delight when it is bottled and released. Apricot, chamomile, dried flowers and a kiss of French oak all build effortlessly over time. The 2025 is flat-out delicious. It’s another exceptional effort from Nicolas Thienpont. Tasted two times.
About the producer

Nicolas Thienpont purchased this estate in the Côte des Francs in 1988. Largely producing white wine, there is a high percentage of Semillon (60%) with 25% Sauvignon Gris and 15% Sauvignon Blanc. Fermented in 500-litre oak and spending six months on lees, this is an impressive, textured white wine.
