The 2025 La Tour Carnet was picked from September 9 to October 6 at 23 hl/ha. This estate has decreased in size to 160 hectares as some parcels were pulled up and are currently not replaced. Matured in 50% new oak barrels, it offers baked black cherries, licorice and aniseed scents on the nose. There is not sur-maturité here, though it does miss a little delineation. The palate is medium-bodied, with the 50% new oak needing to be fully integrated. Quite grainy in texture towards the finish, there is a pleasant linearity to this La Tour Carnet and, despite the late picking, this works. Give it just two or three years in bottle.

Extremely floral and perfumed, with red fruit aromas that follow through to a medium body with fine and integrated tannins and a creamy texture. Pretty and seductive for this estate. Precise. 69% merlot, 28% cabernet sauvignon, 2% petit verdot, and 1% cabernet franc. Best La Tour Carnet in years.

The 2025 La Tour Carnet is gorgeous. Aromatic and wonderfully vibrant, with striking purity, the 2025 is seriously impressive. It’s one of the most elegant, classy vintages I have tasted here. I have long admired La Tour Carnet, especially in its ability to age. The 2025 really does seem to represent a new era. Élevage is projected to be approximately 14 months, 50% in French oak, 50% in stainless steel, wood and concrete vats. What a delight.
