Tasting notes
The 2025 La Tour Blanche has a more primal bouquet, tightly wound at first, then opening with beeswax and light apricot scents. The palate is wonderful, with plenty of vivacious botrytised fruit, energy and tension. It is weighty as usual with this Sauternes, but there is a countervailing sense of energy through to the finish. Excellent.

A brilliant, exuberant Sauternes that delivers the goods, the 2025 Château La Tour Blanche reminds me of the 2003 on release, with big, heady aromatics of white peach, honeyed tropical fruit, mint, flowers, and toasted bread. Full-bodied on the palate, it's deep, rich, and layered, with a great finish. I love the overall balance here, and it should shine right out of the gate yet still evolve gracefully.
Full-bodied, with restrained sweetness thatâs not excessive in any way, acidity that complements and drives the wine and a subtle saline touch.
