Tasting notes
The 2025 Malleret is quite backward at first, opening with blackberry and raspberry fruit, light mineral scents in the background and a touch of violet. The palate is medium-bodied with a bright opening, but it feels just a tad over-macerated in the winery, so that it loses a little precision on the finish. Not bad, but could have been better?

A plump, round, and supple wine, the 2025 Château De Malleret offers ripe red and black fruits, truffly earth, spring flowers, and spice on the nose. Based on 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot that's being raised in 25% new French oak, it's supple and nicely textured on the palate, with ripe tannins, solid overall balance, and a great finish.
The 2025 de Malleret is a juicy Margaux to drink over the next handful of years. Black cherry, licorice, chocolate and espresso are generous on the palate. Broad tannins wrap it all together. This is promising. Tasted two times.
