The 2025 Clos Saint-Julien just misses a bit of vigour and personality on the nose. The yields were just 19 hl/ha... I wonder if that was too low? The palate is quite muscular on the entry, with slightly assertive tannins, though it lacks some delineation and complexity towards the finish. It does not really say anything.

An equal split of Cabernet Franc and Merlot that will spend 18 months in 70% new French oak, the 2025 Clos Saint-Julien is rockingly good. Ripe currants, black cherries, Asian spice, chocolate, and meaty nuances all define the bouquet, and on the palate, it's full-bodied, broad, deep, and layered.

Clos Saint-Julien is magnificent in 2025. What a wine. Inky and explosive in the glass, but not at all heavy, Clos Saint-Julien has so much to offer. It's classic Saint-Émilion all the way. Plush contours and silky tannins totally envelop the palate.
