The 2025 Clos des Jacobins was picked September 10 to 22 at 40 hl/ha, matured in 60% new oak. This is a little tight on the nose and demands more coaxing than its peers. Eventually, black cherry mixed with kirsch appears, potpourri and light vanillary scents. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannins, fine grip, nicely focused, with hints of dark chocolate and mocha towards the finish. I might have just used say 10% less new oak here, but it should cohere once it is in bottle. Drink over 10 to 12 years, possibly longer.

A ripe, dense, powerful Saint-Emilion, the 2025 Clos Des Jacobins reveals blackberry, darker cherries, graphite, and chocolaty herb notes on the nose. It's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with ripe tannins, ample mid-palate depth, and a great finish.

Medium- to full-bodied and elegant, with delineated fruit, subtle salt and precise tannins. Refined and tactful.

Rich and exuberant, with striking aromatic presence, the 2025 Clos des Jacobins is superb. I can’t wait to see how it ages, it is so compelling today. Bright red-toned fruit, spice, cedar, tobacco, mint and a kick of pomegranate liven up the close. This is impeccably done.
