The 2025 Carbonnieux Blanc has a light, delicate nose, with pretty apple blossom and Anjou pear scents. Like recent vintages, it just needs more oomph (technical term, but you know what I mean). The palate has matchstick reduction on the entry, and this suppresses the finish and detracts from the brightness and charm. This was less evident on a second bottle. Hopefully this will be addressed by the time of bottling, but I remain prudent for now.

A richer yet nicely balanced white, the 2025 Château Carbonnieux Blanc offers orchard fruits, orange, and minty, floral nuances on the nose. Medium-bodied on the palate, it's bright and fresh, with good balance and a kiss of minerality.

This shows semillon character with aromas of dried apples, pears, spices, dried lemon peel and lemon curd. It’s full-bodied, layered and rich, with flavors of fruit and grape skin. Fascinating waxy finish. One of the earliest harvests ever, starting on August 19. A blend of 55% sauvignon blanc and 45% semillon.

The 2025 Carbonnieux Blanc is a brilliant, tense wine with good depth and plenty of drive. Green pear, lemon peel, tomato leaf, sage, mint and white pepper are very nicely fashioned in this tasty dry white.
