Tasting notes
The 2025 Cuvée Préstige has an energetic nose with Morello cherry, blueberry and light violet scents. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fresh and quite mineral, with a smooth, peppery finish. This Canon Fronsac has good potential.

The brilliant, deep purple-hued 2025 Château Barrabaque Cuvée Prestige offers pretty, jammy red, blue, and black fruits on the nose, with smoky herbs, graphite, and sappy violet nuances. Based on 80% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Malbec, it’s complex and medium-bodied on the palate, with a round, layered, lush mouthfeel and fine tannins.
The 2025 Cuvée Prestige from Barrabaque reveals a vibrant bouquet of cassis, licorice and dark berries. Medium- to full-bodied, juicy, straight and precise, it’s more enveloping and fleshy than usual yet retains an uncommon freshness that brings balance and lift. This is a particularly successful rendition that may rank among the best produced here. It's a blend of 80% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec.
