Tasting notes
Here is a new exciting wine from Idda, the Gaja and Alberto Graci project on Etna. The 2024 Etna Bianco Contrada Stella is a new addition to the portfolio and cements the estate's commitment to Carricante and the grape's ability to evolve in the bottle. This pretty wine offers a combination of sage, citrus and white peach, and the wine delivers more complexity overall with a subtle structure and depth. It feels extremely Mediterranean and Sicilian in character, with salty end notes that recall marine tones. This release of 3,900 bottles sees some oak and partial malolactic fermentation.

Distinctly savory on the nose, the 2024 Bianco unfolds with nuances of stone dust, dried herbs, incense and Asian pear. It’s soft-textured and round with ripe orchard fruits, spice and a gentle reverberation of salty minerality. This cleans up beautifully through the finish, leaving a subtle saline concentration and hints of tart citrus.
