Tasting notes
All Cabernet Sauvignon aged in new Taransaud barrels, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Mythicvs is a deep, rich effort offering chocolaty black fruits, graphite, scorched earth, and gamey nuances. Full-bodied on the palate, it shows remarkable density and depth, with a layered mid-palate and ripe tannins carrying through the finish. This impressive release will evolve gracefully for two decades.

All Cabernet Sauvignon, a blend of blocks from the vineyard's volcanic ash-derived soils, Blankiet's 2022 Mythicus Paradise Hills Vineyard is a showstopper. Cassis and pencil shavings, hints of black olive and cinnamon appear on the nose, while the palate is medium to full-bodied, expansive and intense, creamy textured but almost light on its feet, with a long, softly dusty finish.
The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Mythicus Paradise Hills Vineyard is a brooding, backward wine. Graphite, dried herbs, cloves and incense meld into a core of inky dark fruit. Dense, layered and ample, the 2022 is shaping up to be a jewel of a wine. The oak imprint is a bit evident at this stage, but that should not be a problem in time. This is a very good wine for the year.
