Score 97/100 · Drink 2030-2035, Virginie Boone, jebdunnuck.com, Feb 2026

The 2023 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard has tremendous oomph and texture, slatey in tea, forest, and spice. It’s the most powerful of the producer’s wines, from the steepest slopes where the soils are thinner. The structure is formidable, suggesting more time in bottle, but this is an undeniably beautiful wine, expressive in cassis, forest mushroom, and a hint of sea air. Enjoy best 2030-2035.

The 2023 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard is ripe and forward in the context of the other Auteur Pinots, but there’s plenty of structure and a kick of rusticity that pulls it all together. Iron filings, animal blood, pine shavings, ripe raspberry and black truffle nuances sizzle in the glass. The Savoy turns inward on the finish, becoming more brooding and reserved. That bodes very well for the future. Give this a couple of years to unfurl.
