Score 94-96/100 · Drink 2027-2044, Neal Martin, Jan 2026
The 2024 Richebourg Grand Cru was reduced from five to three barrels this year, raised entirely in new oak after what had been a very early malo. This has an open and pleasingly transparent bouquet with perfumed red berry fruit, hints of dried rose petals and crushed stone with Italian herbs in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and a silver thread of acidity. Perhaps a bit like the Aux Brûlées, the growing season denied it the amplitude of the stupendous 2023, this Richebourg staying within its mean to its own advantage. This will probably drink before the 2022 and 2023.
