Score 95-97/100 · Drink 2028-2048, Neal Martin, Jan 2026
The 2024 Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux 1er Cru is matured in two new barrels (usually there are three occasionally four). This has the second lowest pH (3.45) with the highest acidity (3.67gm/L). This Cros P (to give it its Lumon Enterprises name) demands patience for certain, quite reticent at first, more black fruit than other cuvées, hints of pencil box and forest floor perhaps a touch of wild mushroom. The palate is perhaps more representative: svelte tannins, perfectly pitched acidity and satin-like texture. Exceedingly long though quite tender, again dare I say that this might surpass the 2023? Iron fist, satin glove etc. etc.
