2023 Genevieve's Block Chardonnay

The 2023 Chardonnay Genevieve's Block soars from the glass with lifted aromatics and bright, sculpted fruit. Bright acids give the 2023 its decidedly tense, nervy personality. Orange peel, white flowers, chamomile and a hint of spice are some of the many notes that begin to open with a bit of time in the glass. This builds beautifully over time. The long, sustained finish is quite attractive. The 2023 spent 14 months in barrel (33% new) and then three months in tank prior to bottling, a classic Burgundian aging regime that works so well here.
