Saturated ruby. Mineral-accented black and blue fruit, cola and floral pastille aromas plus hints of vanilla and licorice. Sappy, penetrating cassis and blueberry flavors acquire a smoky nuance as the wine opens up. Finishes long and appealingly sweet, with round, even tannins and lingering blue fruit character. Aged for a year in new and used French and American oak barrels.

I tasted two vintages of their eponymous Tempranillo, starting with the 2015 Emilio Moro, from a warm and early-ripening vintage. This bottling was introduced in 1998, as they stopped bottling the Crianza and Reserva under the name. It matured in French and American oak barrels for 12 months. This 2015 is riper, with notes of prunes and great concentration, heady, juicy and chewy. It's a hedonistic Tempranillo with moderate acidity. 700,000 bottles produced. It was bottled starting with March 2017 with weekly batches.
