A background whiff of volatile acidity is present on the otherwise cool, restrained and elegant aromas of the essence of red cherry, rose petal, exotic tea and a hint of soy. The super-sleek silky textured flavors also deliver excellent length on the ever-so-mildly edgy finish. While I don't think that the VA will bother any but the most sensitive of tasters, note that my projected range offers the benefit of the doubt that the edginess will dissipate with time as the tannins round off.Drink 2036+

The 2024 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru has a beautiful bouquet with vivacious red fruit, crushed stone, violet and iris flower that collectively blossom in the glass. Nice aromatic chorus line. The palate is well defined with a satin-textured opening, fine acidity, dark plum and just a hint of chocolate emerging with time. Maybe just a little conservative at the moment but it will flourish once in bottle this year. This challenges the notional supremacy of the Richebourg.

Very elegant, cool and still quite intense. Let’s face it, this is a truly emotional terroir that is always trying to seduce you … rather than persuade you. Love this cuvee and the pinot emotions it is trying to convey. Drink from 2035
