The 2024 Richebourg Grand Cru has a little more reduction on the nose compared to the Romanée-Saint-Vivant, well-defined with a touch of undergrowth. The palate is medium-bodied with fine but firm tannins, impressive depth, quite mineral-driven with a persistent finish and a persistent sapid aftertaste. Quite a dashing Richebourg but it will need some time in bottle. Three barrels produced.

Here too there is a barely perceptible whiff of volatile acidity lurking in the background of the more deeply pitched nose of plum, black cherry, jasmine tea, orange peel and just enough wood influence to merit pointing out. The more mineral-inflected flavors are not especially dense but do proffer impressive power and even better length on the balanced finish. This is really quite classy and like the Romanée St. Vivant, I doubt that the VA will detract from the overall impression absent being particularly sensitive to it.Drink 2036+
