Tasting notes
The fruit for Hudelot-Noëllat’s Bourgogne Rouge comes from 18 parcels around Chambolle-Musigny and the result punches well above its weight. Elegant, fresh and vibrant, the 2024 Bourgogne Rouge is driven by crunchy red fruit and a clean, peppery edge. Red currant and wild strawberry lead on the nose with a light earthy touch. The palate is juicy, fruity and easy-going, with fine definition and lively freshness that make it irresistibly drinkable. Clean, charming and built purely on its fruit.

The 2024 Bourgogne Rouge had been racked the previous day. As such, the nose was not representative, though the palate is balanced with decent dark berry fruit with a hint of cassis on the finish. It looks solid if unremarkable.
A super-fresh and bright nose is comprised by notes of the essence of red and dark pinot fruit, plum and pretty violet top notes. There is impressive density for both the vintage and the appellation to the delicious middle weight flavors that display fine length on the balanced finale that is firm enough to repay short-term keeping. This is a very good Bourgogne and one to look for.
