Tasting notes
There are just two big barrels of the 2024 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot), a medium- to full-bodied, concentrated and chalky wine evocative of pear, toasted nuts and peach, framed by a deft touch of oak. Racy, compact and penetrating, this has turned out nicely.

The 2024 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru was showing some reduction on the nose, though it is clear there is plenty of fruit behind it. The palate is well balanced with orange rind and nectarine on the entry, quite exotic for a Folatières, nicely composed however on the finish. This will need a couple of years once in bottle but I cannot help thinking that it could have given more.
Cask sample. Stony-mineral, almost white-pepper-like in its impression of stony texture even if not peppery in flavour. Fruit is restrained but the underlying power is evident in the long, dry, stony finish. Deep and elegant and long. (JH)
About the producer

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
