2023 Marienburg Riesling Fahrlay Terrassen GG

The 2023 Pündericher Marienburg Fahrlay Terrassen Grosses Gewächs is the core parcel of the vineyard, where the oldest vines are 115 years old and the berries are loose and tiny. This is generally harvested a week later than the Fahrlay. Stone and lemon have verve on the nose, almost with a lift of mint. The palate is concentrated and tender, a bundled force of lemon and salty stone. It has no frills, just direction and drive, reaching far into the saltiest stone. This is the essence of slate.
