Tasting notes
The 2024 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru is another one of the insider choices chez Drouhin, opening in the glass with notes of dark berries, spices, incense and orange zest. Medium- to full-bodied, ample and layered, it’s a blend of Petits Monts, Malconsorts and Chaumes.

Au-Dessus des Malconsorts, Chaumes and some Petits Monts, the latter being purchased fruit, not from Véronique Drouhin’s holding. Made separately and assembled at the end, as the terroirs are so different. Almost a regal ruby colour, just short of imperial purple. Supple but with tensile strength, ripe red berries with even the lightest chocolate note mixed in. A good acid balance to deliver grip at the finish. Immaculate.
About the producer

Joseph Drouhin is one of the largest and most famous producers in Burgundy, making both domaine and négociant wines. It remains family-owned and run, now in the hands of the fourth generation.
