Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Vosne Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots from Domaine François Lamarche has a pretty bouquet with fresh strawberry and Morello aromas, well integrated wood and subtle mineral notes developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple red berry fruit, sweet in the middle but needing another 12 to 18 months to fully assimilate the oak. Overall, it comes across as a pleasant, somewhat easy-going wine.
