Coming from a single fermentation, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon brought up in 90% new French oak. Deep purple-hued, it offers classic aromatics of crème de cassis, liquid violets, graphite, and scorched earth. Medium to full-bodied, pure, and focused on the palate, it has building tannins, terrific mid-palate depth, and a great, great finish. It's a remarkably structured, elegant, regal 2023 with incredible length and persistence and a First Growth-like level of class. Hide bottles for a decade if you can, and it will cruise for 40-50 years in cold cellars. Drink 2035-2075.

The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin is potent and explosive right out the gate. Dark, layered and brooding, the 2023 is a brilliant wine that is going to need a number of years to be at its finest. Dark blue fruits, crème de cassis, new leather, menthol, licorice and incense are some of the many notes that build in the glass. Vibrant saline nuances pull it all together on the close. This is a seriously beautiful wine. The Grand Vin is indeed grand in 2023.
The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin is spectacular. It will rival, perhaps equal, the greatest wines ever made here. Seamless and vibrant, it dazzles from start to finish. Blue-toned fruit, licorice, spice, menthol and licorice stain the palate. In 2023, the Grand Vin is just one ferment, all Clone 191 planted in 2002. What a wine!
