(13.9% alcohol): Bright medium ruby. Slightly liqueur-like aromas of blackberry, violet and licorice are joined by distinctly funky leather and animal notes. Savory, sweet wine with lovely depth to its dark berry flavors complicated by high-toned leather and game. Finishes with dusty, granular tannins and decent length. A bit clunky but still full of life, showing no shortage of sweet, chocolatey fruit.

The impressively saturated, dense ruby/purple color is promising, but the wine suffers from a boatload of astringent tannin. Behind the searing mouthfeel is dense, black currant, cherry fruit with tar, licorice and cedar notes. I suspect this wine is always going to be too tannic, and the fruit will ultimately dry out before anything ever comes into balance. Heed the word of a wise man, "If it tastes too tannic, it is too tannic." No telephone listing available.
