Concentrated mid ruby with orange tinges. Minty hints over brooding, concentrated cherry with tobacco-leaf notes. Supple sour-cherry-fruit palate with long, powdery tannins. Polished finish, but lacking a tiny bit in depth on the mid palate. (WS)

The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino Colombaio lifts from the glass with a mentholated freshness as nuances of mint and split pine give way to crushed cranberries and sour cherries. It floods the palate with a vivid blend of ripe wild berries and blood orange that ride a stream of vibrant acidity. The 2020 leaves the senses drenched in primary concentration and fine-grained tannins as hints of citrus-laced blackberry resonate.
