Score 95/100 · Drink 2025-2040, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Dec 2024
The 2022 Pinot Noir Proem #1 comes from Calera clone vines planted in the Quarter Moon Vineyard and was harvested on September 6. Fermented with 20% whole clusters, it has layered scents of red cherry and plum, aniseed, spearmint, lavender and woodsy undertones, and it continues to unfurl as it spends time in the glass. The medium-bodied palate offers layer after layer of detailed red fruit, earth and spice, and its new oak is well integrated. It’s structured by soft, dusty tannins and juicy acidity and has a very long, expressive finish. 257 cases were made.
