Score 93/100 · Drink 2023-2038, Jeb Dunnuck, Dec 2023
Checking in as 53% Petit Verdot and 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2021 Petit Verdot V offers a deeper plum hue as well as a complex bouquet of spiced black fruits, leafy herbs, spicy oak, and leather-like nuances. I love its complexity, it's full-bodied, has a broad mouthfeel, and no shortage of tannins. This is always such an interesting wine to taste, and the 2021 shows the concentrated, rich, structured style of the vintage. It should have 15 years or more of overall longevity.
