Score 87/100 · Drink 1996-2005, Robert Parker, Jun 1994

In the past I have remarked that the blackcurrant and minty-scented nose of the Zinfandel from Napa's Dickerson Vineyard had more than a vague similarity to Bordeaux's famed Pauillac, Chateau Mouton-Rothschild. The dark ruby-colored 1992 Zinfandel Dickerson Vineyard possesses the tell-tale mint and cassis, but in more modest amounts than usual. The wine exhibits considerably less concentration and depth than such recent vintages as 1990 and 1991. In fact, both the Ravenswood Belloni Vineyard and Cooke Vineyard blew away the Dickerson. Although the latter wine is expansive and excellent, it is more narrowly constructed than previous efforts. Drink it between 1996-2005. Tel. (707) 938-1960
