Tasting notes
The 1988 Barolo Cerequio is full of tobacco, spices, plums and prunes. Though fully mature, this mid-weight Barolo has aged exceptionally well and still shows gorgeous delineation in its perfumed, fresh fruit.

All three 1988 Barolos were outstanding. It is hard to pick a favorite since they are young and unevolved. The 1988 Barolo-Cerequio is rich and tight, with a beautiful inner-core of sweet fruit, as well as a fragrant tar-scented Nebbiolo nose. If you can afford to, purchase several bottles of each. These immensely impressive wines are the finest I have yet tasted from Roberto Voerzio. It has been a number of years since I have tasted this producer's wines, but I was immensely impressed with his current offerings. Importer: Viva Vino Imports, Eddystone, PA.
