1992 Domaine Michel Colin-Deleger et Fils Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru

There were 75 cases made (15 cases will be brought into the United States) of the 1992 Chevalier-Montrachet. It is a phenomenal wine that will undoubtedly merit a score in the upper nineties when it is fully mature in 1-3 years. Its massive intensity and thick, buttery, blockbuster-scented nose of honey, flowers, and tropical fruits are backed up by spicy, smoky new oak. With great fruit, and oodles of apple, butter, orange-like flavors, this huge, thick wine should be at its best by 1996-1997 and last for at least a decade. Colin, who has become one of the top stars of white burgundy, excelled in 1989, made very fine wines in 1990, competent, and above average quality 1991s. The 1992s are the strongest line-up I have yet to taste from him. They should be sought out by lovers of white burgundy. Colin-Deleger is one of the superstars of the 1992 white burgundy vintage.
