Score 93/100 · Drink 1994-2014, Robert Parker, Apr 1994

The 1991 Sirius, made from the old vines of Napa's Marston Vineyard, is a blockbuster, massively-concentrated, chocolatey, meaty, cassis, spicy wine with exceptional body, superb richness, a supple texture, and a long, concentrated finish. The color is nearly saturated purple. It appears more precocious and flattering than prior vintages. Reminiscent of the great 1991 Petite Sirah made by La Jota, Sean Thackrey's exquisite 1991 Sirius can be drunk now or cellared for 20+ years.
