Tasting notes
Based on 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the remarkable valley floor site in Oakville and aged 22 months in French oak, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard shows classic To Kalon aromatics of red, blue, and black fruits intermixed with flowery incense and chocolaty spice. Deep purple-hued, it's concentrated and full-bodied on the palate, with mouthfilling richness as well as an ultra-pure, sexy, and seamless style that's just impossible to resist. It shines today yet will cruise for at least two decades in cold cellars. There are 300 cases produced. Drink 2025-2045.

Aged in a special Sylvain "Collection" barrel from a 350-year-old oak, Myriad's 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard TOK X is very similar to the regular To Kalon bottling, but it's more supple and with gentler spice notes. Subtle cinnamon and allspice notes join fine suede and mixed red and black cherries on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is rich and velvety, framed by ripe tannins and finishing long and mouthwatering.
Myriad's portion of this site is still relatively young (fifth crop), but it does have the currently preferred row orientation. The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard features lots of dried spices, ripe cherries and fine suede-like nuances. It's full-bodied and velvety, with plenty of savory spice and supple tannins on the lingering finish.
