Score 95/100 · Drink 2016-2046, Robert Parker, Dec 2016

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon The Bishop may not provide divine guidance, but this is a wine worth checking out for its hedonistic and intellectual display of blueberry and blackberry fruit, Asian plum sauce, graphite, charcoal and spice. It is layered, juicy, succulent, and for a 2013, remarkably opulent and voluptuous, and has not yet begun to close down. I assume this is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, as the color is an inky, murky purple to the rim. This has a good 20-30 years of upside to it.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon The Bishop draws on fruit from Howell Mountain and St. Helena. Dense and powerful, the 2013 offers plenty of intensity, but it also comes across as heavy and pushed too far in both ripeness and extraction. Chocolate, mocha, dark plums and spices are some of the signatures.
