Tasting notes
The 2022 Chardonnay Corazon is the most potent and layered of the Chardonnays. It emerges from windswept, south-facing blocks where exposure to strong winds results in berries with thick skins and notable concentration. Apricot, marzipan, sage and chamomile are some of the notes that fill out the layers. Readers will find an old-vine Chardonnay endowed with notable phenolic intensity and depth.

From vines planted in 1967 and yielding 2.5 to three tons per acre, the 2022 Chardonnay Corazon is richly stone-fruited, with peach and nectarine leading the way, accented by hints of honey, butter, custard and crème brûlée. It's medium- to full-bodied but still streamlined, bright and long, not overly heavy or rich, picking up bright pineapple notes on the lingering finish.
