The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin En Palud is no longer domaine but comes from the same parcel, which is now farmed by Bertrand Maume, who then sells the fruit back to Tawse – hence it is under their négociant label. Complicated, eh? It has a perfumed, quite floral bouquet of luscious red cherries and crushed strawberry. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and fine acidity, not complex but focused, leading to a pretty, harmonious, quite feminine finish. Enjoy this over the next eight to 10 years.
