Tasting notes
The 2024 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Estournelles Saint-Jacques (Domaine Louis Jadot) is pretty, bursting with notes of petals, beetroot and spices, followed by a medium-bodied, fine-boned, delicate palate with good energy and length for the year.

The 2024 Gevrey-Chambertin Estournelles Saint-Jacques ler Cru has more red fruit on the nose, a little bolder than the Lavaux, cassis and pressed violets, just a hint of leather. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip. Fine weight, this is well balanced with good delineation, perhaps more understated than recent solar vintages, yet it feels reassuringly prolonged on the aftertaste and delivers the sapidity to beckon you back for more.

About the producer

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
