Tasting notes
A new vineyard for this estate (they lost some vineyards in 2017), the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Amoenus Vineyard is all Cabernet that spent 22 months in 90% new oak. It’s another killer wine, offering notes of candied violets, tobacco, and chocolate, beautiful cassis and blue fruits, medium to full body, ripe tannins, and the purity and elegance that are the hallmark of this great vintage.

Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Amoenus Vineyard was aged for 22 months in French oak barrels, 90% new. Deep garnet-purple in color, it comes barreling out of the glass with flamboyant notes of red currant jelly, black raspberries, fresh black currant and cinnamon stick, plus suggestions of red roses and dusty soil. Medium to full-bodied, tightly knit and wonderfully perfumed in the mouth, it delivers velvety tannins and a long, fragrant finish. 288 cases were made.
