Drink 2029-2040, FINE+RARE, Oct 2025

After producing the Meursault 1er Cru Clos Richemont Monopole for only six vintages, Henri Boillot is now transferring this remarkable 17-ouvrée parcel, acquired from Henri Darnat before the 2019 vintage, to his son Guillaume, in accordance with French inheritance law. The 2024 Meursault 1er Cru Clos Richemont confirms the promise first glimpsed in its debut release. The site, whose soils closely resemble those of Bâtard- and Le Montrachet, has excelled in this cooler year, yielding a wine that dazzled in our tasting. The bouquet is both generous and precise, wafting with aromas of pear, clear honey, white flowers, nutmeg, and a touch of woodsmoke and buttery pastry. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, satiny and vibrant, carrying pithy Amalfi lemon, saline seaspray and toasted nut notes. Sleek and finely etched, it unfolds with racy tension and mineral drive, finishing long, focused and mouth-watering — a graceful, quietly confident Meursault that reflects its exceptional terroir.

A generous mid yellow colour. The bouquet suggests a broad-based fruit, supported by its oak, with a minor reductive tension. Lots of agrumes follow through, very striking. All limestone and barely any soil here. Another wine in the 2014 mode suggested by Henri Boillot.
