Score 16.5/20 · Drink 2022-2028, Jancis Robinson MW, Oct 2025

Full bottle 1,250 g. 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc. A joint project by Dominique Hebrard, former co-owner of Château Cheval Blanc, and Hubert de Boüard, co-owner of Château Angélus. Vines with an average age of 25 years. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Aged for 12–14 months, 50% in stainless-steel tanks, 50% in one- and two-year-old barrels. Technical cork closure. RS 0.3 g/l. Dark, shaded ruby. Looks fully mature. Bloody and soft – very different from the Le Moulin Rose de Malescasse 2020. But lots of pleasure and absolutely ready. Not for cellaring! VGV (JR)

Bright cherry and mulberry fruits, a touch of cedary oak, and tobacco all emerge from the 2018 Château De Francs. Medium-bodied, with good overall balance and a clean finish, this is a solid, bistro-style drinker to enjoy over the coming 4-6 years.
