Tasting notes
(14.2% alcohol): Medium bright ruby. Very ripe aromas of cassis, black raspberry, dark chocolate, mocha, licorice, brown spices and root beer, plus a hint of graphite minerality. Fat and concentrated but with a slightly dusty, green edge to its dark fruit flavors. A bit monolithic and inexpressive. Finishes with serious tongue-drying tannins and a hint of menthol herbs. There's no rush to drink this, but where will it go in bottle?

(a blend of 52% cabernet sauvignon, 26% merlot, 21% cabernet franc and 1% malbec) Dark red. Aromas of black raspberry, bitter cherry, mocha, mint and nutty oak. Juicy, sappy and rather suave, with good spicy lift to the currant and cherry fruit flavors. This has a silky pliancy of texture that the winery's 2005 cabernet can't yet match. Finishes with sweet, dusty tannins and very good length.
A beautiful wine from this Napa winery, The Oracle is a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Malbec. Deep ruby/purple, with spicy aromatics intertwined with some lush blackberry and cassis fruit, opulent on the palate, with full body, silky tannins, and low acidity, this is a beauty that should drink handsomely for at least a decade.
